Physical Appearance and Design

Blackberry Torch 9810 has a weight of 5.68-ounce and has a diameter of .57 inches making it a little bit chunky in the pocket. The back cover is covered with new spray-paint-like silver. If you put the Torch 9800 and the new Blackberry Torch 9810 together, they really look the same.

A 3.5 mm headphone jack, volume rocker, and camera shortcut button are located on the right side of the phone. On the left side, a micro USB jack is located. Lock and mute keys on the other hand are located on the top edge of the phone. Below the screen you’ve got the good old optical track pad together with the call, menu, back, and end / power buttons.

Additional pixels have been added to the new Blackberry Torch 9810. The Blackberry Torch 9810 now has a 3.2-inch screen display with 640 x 480 pixel resolution. Software and Performance

Blackberry Torch 9810 is powered by the 1.2GHz processor and is running on Blackberry OS 7. This processor makes the Blackberry Torch 9810 works faster and smoother. HTC Smart – Simple Smartphone Just For You

Overview

HTC Smart is one of the easiest to use smartphones today. It is tagged as an entry-level smart phone because of its simplicity equipped with great features. The phone looks compact and stylish. HTC Smart got pretty good features that a simple individual may relish. This is just a small phone that can do big. Check out the review after the jump.

Physical Appearance and Design

HTC Smart has a very simple and sleek design which will not be that noticeable if it will be compared to other high-end smartphones. It has a dimension of 104 x 55 x12.8 mm and weighs merely 108 grams. It is made up of plastic making it handier and more portable. Using this smartphone is much uncomplicated. From the buttons to touch screens. All are very user-friendly. You can actually place this phone in your pocket without creating too much bulge. The phone is shiny and very sleek, yet it is called stylish phone.

Buttons are located on different sides of the cell phone. A 3.5 mm audio jack is located on the top side of the phone. On the other hand, mouthpiece, lanyard eyelet and the miniUSB port are located on the bottom side of it. Located on the left panel are the volume keys and a camera shutter key on the right panel.

Physical buttons are located on the front panel of the phone. These buttons are the Call, Menu, Back and the small Option key. HTC Smart features a resistive touchscreen making it more enjoyable to use. A 3 MP camera is located on the back of the phone with fixed focus optics together with the LED flash. External storage like the MicroSD card can be inserted in the microsSD card slot located behind the 1100 mAh Li-on battery.

Features

One feature that makes HTC Smart a smartphone is their original HTC Sense user interface that features skins, wallpapers, home screens and widgets for internet, calendar, music, photos and weather forecasts. There is also a so called Friend Stream feature that is linked to different social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Just like any other Android phones, this phone offers a notification bar that lets you open notifications in just single slide of your finger.

The Phonebook and Messages are also very much well arranged. You can save contacts including email addresses, call history contact numbers and all the necessary information. Messaging is very simple. Just open the message and start typing your messages. It also supports MMS and emails.

Playing music is also a good experience with the HTC Smart. You can play music while doing other stuffs. On the other hand, video player supports MP4 and 3GP formats. You can record using the 3MP camera in QVGA video display at 15fps only. It has also FM radio tuner, so you can enjoy listening to your favourite music while on the go.

Connectivity

HTC Smart does not have Wi-Fi capability. However, you can always connect to 3G to enjoy web browsing while on the go. Just make sure that you are in a data plan in order not to incur bigger charges.

Performance

Overall performance is good. Calling using HTC Smart is a very great experience. Very clear and crisp sound is expected on this phone. Taking photos is also very good giving decent pictures. Web browsing is just fine using the Opera Mini as its local browser. The great advantage is the feature of HTC SENSE that allows you to customize your phone into a great and very stylish phone. HTC Incredible S – Incredible Phone by HTC

Overview

HTC produces a lot of high end phones available worldwide. Together with the great design are features that make the phones better or not, the best. HTC Incredible S is one of the latest smartphones manufactured by HTC. Is it really an incredible Android smartphone? Check out the review after the jump.

Physical Appearance Design and Features

HTC Incredible S is a very slick smartphone made of predominantly black chassis. The entire body is made up of metal and plastic with matte finish. It feels very solid and comfortable to the hands. HTC Incredible S has a measurement of 120 x 64 x 11.7 mm. It weighs 135.5 grams making it slimmer and lighter phone. No physical buttons can be found on the front panel.

Power button is located on the top of the button. Another physical button is located on the right side of the phones, the volume rocker. There are also touch sensitive buttons situated just below the touch screen display.

HTC Incredible S has a huge display measuring 4 inches diagonally.It has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels that give a very bright and crisp screen display great for web browsing and video playing. Although it’s not giving a clear view when exposed under the sun, it still manages to give a decent picture during that situation.

A 1.3 megapixel front facing camera gives you a chance to take self-portraits and allows you to make video calls. An 8 megapixel camera with autofocus is located on the back of the mobile phone.

Operating System, Software

HTC Incredible S is powered by the Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon Adreno 205 GPU giving a Speed of 1 GHz making the applications work fast. However, HTC Incredible S ships with Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. That’s quite disappointing as there is already new version of OS, teh 2.3 Gingerbread. HTC promises to get the HTC Incredible S an update in the near future.

Applications and Peformance

As expected, the HTC Sense user interface is still integrated and looks perfect on the HTC Incredible S. It has new and exciting interface with an additional of Friend Stream widget on the home screen that allows you to aggregate your social networking feeds.

Facebook and Twitter applications can also be installed on the HTC Incredible S cellular phone. The user interface and the responsiveness of the phones is superb. It responds very fast. Applications and Games work snappier than before. Thanks to its very fast processor.

Browser supports Adobe Flash Player, thanks to the Froyo OS, although Gingerbread also supports the same technology. Web browsing is a great experience,loading all the web pages completely.

Texting also makes easier by using the virtual keyboard embedded on the phone. It responds to touch very well.

Camera, Audio, Video and Image Quality

Thanks to the 8 megapixel camera with autofocus that gives a very clear and vivid photo quality. You can choose the best mode of camera that fits you. You can also add some effects for more decent and incredible pictures. However, picture quality tend to be more grainy without the presence of enough light. The camera works better outdoors.

On the other hand, the dual LED flash helps illuminate the colors of the pictures. Thanks to HTC for adding this feature on their HTC Incredible S phone.

Video quality is also good. It records video at 720p in HD. It automatically adapt to changing lighting conditions giving you a good video quality.

Call quality is also very good giving you a crisp sound while on the go.

Conenctivity

HTC Incredible S supports WiFi technology on b/g/n frequencies. It is also 3G capable allowing you to browse the internet on the go. MicroUSB is also present for data transfer in between your phone and your PC. It has also bluetooth v 2.1 technology good for transferring files over the air.

Memory

HTC Incredible S has on board memory of 1.1 GB. It is still expandable via the microSD memory card slot that supports up to 32GB of storage.

Battery Life

Battery life in HTC Incredible S is pretty doing good. It can last up to 15 hours of moderate calling, texting, a little bit of web browsing and photo taking. That’s good for an Android smartphone.

Conclusion

HTC Incredible S is a very nice phone with a very good design making it slimmer and sleeker. It has 8 megapixel camera used for video and photo capturing. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc – Better Design, Better Features

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is the successor of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i, one of the successful Android phones from Sony Ericsson. Now, the new model is equipped with new design and perhaps better features. Let’s check out the review after the jump.

Physical Appearance, Design and Features

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc looks like a flat and very large device at first impression. It has a 4.2-inch display. Just below the touch screen display are three physical buttons, the settings, the home and the back buttons, respectively. These buttons don’t actually do heavy functions as you can do the navigation via the touch screen display. Power button is located on the top left of the device. Located on the right top is an HDMI port with cover. Located on the left side of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is a 3.5 mm audio jack with a USB cum charger port located on the right side of the device together with the volume control.

The screen display is very good with the help of the Sony Bravia technology. It has a 480 x 854 pixels which gives a very nice and crisp picture quality.

Operating System, Software and Applications

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is powered by Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon 1 GHz, Adreno 205 GPU and running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating System. Applications that are preinstalled work very great. These applications are PIM services of Clock, Notes and Calendar. They also have a very nice interface.

Android phones have one common similarity, that’s the ability to download free and paid applications from the Android Market. This will certainly maximize the productivity of the Android Phones. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc runs on Android OS, thus supported by .apk files from the Android Market.

If you are a social networking addict, then this phone is really for you. It has a very nice user interface for Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. It also supports all other kinds of social networking sites.

Games also work very smoothly. No lags whatsoever. It is very responsive to touch, thanks to a faster processor that makes it one of a kind touch screen smartphone.

Camera, Image, Sound and Video Quality

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has an 8.1 megapixel camera located on the back of the phone. Surprisingly, it still doesn’t have a front facing camera just like its predecessor. The camera works perfectly as its predecessor’s. The Image quality is good and you can get some applications to play with the pictures.

On the the other side, the video plays very well, thanks to the Sony Bravia technology that has been incorporated on this Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. The display is very brilliant and crisp on the videos, thanks to its 720p at 30 fps recording capability. The sound is also great. It has a very good and impressive sound quality.

The presence of an HDMI cable allows you to connect the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc to an external HDMI capable devices like your TV to view and watch larger videos. The whole interface of the phone can be seen on the TV with the navigation done on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

Connectivity

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc supports WiFi and connects on the b/g/n frequencies. It is also a DLNA capable smartphone. It also supports 3g network so you can browse the web on the go. A microUSB is used for data transfer.

Battery Life

Battery life of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is good. It can last up to 8 hours of heavy usage.

Physical Appearance Design and Features

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is the successor of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro. However, a lot of changes have been made to the new Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro. Let’s start with the dimensions. It has measurements of 92 x 53 x 18 mm and weighs 136g. It still small compared to that of X10 mini pro. The design is also very nice, it is made up of plastic with glossy finish. It’s not the thinnest phone nor the smallest but it is pretty much sleeker.

On the front panel display, there’s a physical home button together with 2 touch sensitive icons, the back and the menu keys. Sliding up on landscape mode would reveal a Qwerty keyboard display. They keys on the keyboards are looking great and typing on it at the same time feels very great. Thanks to the right spacing and the right size of the keys.

On the right side of the phone are the volume rocker and a dedicated camera button. Looking on the top edge of the phone are the power/lock button, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microUSB port covered with a plastic strip. On the back of the camera is a 5 megapixel with autofocus camera together with an LED flash with 720p HD video recording capability. There’s also a front facing VGA camera for video calls. Underneath the back cover are the 1,200 mAh battery and a microSD card slot. Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro has an internal memory storage of 320 MB.

Display

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro has a 3-inch screen display at 320 x 480 pixels with Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology giving a very nice and bright colors. The screen is very responsive to touch. It gives a crisp and vivid image quality that can be compared to that of the Super AMOLED displays used in Samsung Galaxy S 2 phones.

Operating System, Software and Performance

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is powered by 1GHz Scorpion processor with Adreno 205 graphics and 512MB of RAM, running on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread. This makes the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro responds faster and works snappier than the Xperia X10 mini pro. Applications work perfectly without jittery or lags. It does not even freeze.

What is great in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is its own version of customizing the screen, you will actually have 4 launcher on the corners of the screen that serve as shortcuts. The three of the 4 launchers on the corners of the screen can hold up to 4 shortcuts. Another great idea only from Sony Ericson.

A great integration of Facebook application on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro lets you share your status and music in just a tap on the screen. Applications can be downloaded from Android Market for free to maximize the productivity of your Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro.

The physical keyboard on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro really helps a lot especially for the people who have bigger thumbs, just like me. Texting using the physical keyboard is near perfect.

Browsing and surfing the internet on the other hand is not a great experience due to relatively small screen size. You need to work extra effort in zooming and out.

Camera Image and Video Quality

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro does good in shooting still images. There is a tendency for the camera to over saturate the photos. It does good outdoors with the help of bright lights. The presence of an LED flash also help in illuminating the pictures taken in dark places.

Video quality is good, thanks to its capability to capture videos at 720p HD resolution. However, just like the colors on the pictures taken, colors on the videos also tend to soften. It is tolerable though.

Connectivity

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro can connect via WiFi on the following frequencies, b/g/n. It is also equipped with Bluetooth technology version 2.1 + EDR. It also supports connection on HSDPA and 3G.

Battery Life

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro has a very good battery life. It promises to give 340 hours of standby on GSM mode, and 5 hours and 40 minutes of talk time. Connecting to 3G or WiFi drains the battery faster. But in most cases, Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro can actually last for 24 hours of average usage.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is indeed a good phone especially for some people who want to experience fast browsing and navigating while using a very portable and sleeker mobile phone.
